The Zinfandel Rose 770 Miles is a richly fruity pink semi-dry wine from the
Central Valley of California from Zinfandel grapes. For this wine, the grapes
are grown on different soils in the valley: sandy, rocky, clay and calcareous,
which enriches the palette of hues and makes the wine taste more multifaceted.
Once the grapes are harvested, they are carefully picked from the ridges to
avoid the herbaceous tones that are unnecessary for this wine. Then a cold
maceration period of a day at 6-8 °C takes place, allowing the wine to be
perfectly saturated with aromas and tastes. The next stage in wine making is
alcoholic fermentation, and for Zinfandel Rose wine it takes place at low temperatures.
This helps soften the peppery and alcoholic notes and produce a more rounded
and velvety wine. Lastly, before bottling, the wine is allowed to rest in
stainless steel vats at low temperatures in inert gas for a balanced and
balanced taste.
An interesting fact is that Zinfandel is a black grape variety, but it is
used to make red, pink and even white wines.
770 miles is not just a pretty name for a brand of California wines, it is
the distance between two wineries in the South and North Central Valley in
California. Les Grands Chais de France, the company that owns these wineries
also explains the name by saying that this is the long and arduous journey one
takes to get acquainted with the variety of their wines.
The wine has a bright rich pink color.
Aroma is very powerful with the dominance of fresh strawberries.
The taste is balanced, refreshingly fruity with light sweetness, with
bright hints of red berries.
